New Google AdSense Network Partners Could Make Top Sites More Expensive

Google AdSense network partners can now bid on display advertising positions at top AdSense publisher sites, potentially making top-performing sites more expensive.

Most ecommerce marketers are familiar with Google AdWords, the pay-per-click advertising platform that lets merchants post ads on Google search results pages or network partner sites. Google AdSense is the corresponding service that connects site publishers with AdWords. Specifically, a publisher can register for AdSense and allow Google to place ads on its site. When a merchant buys a keyword, he or she can select from Google's content network, which consists of AdSense publishers.

In an effort to boost revenue for AdSense users (and, presumably, itself), Google has now opened up AdSense to third-party ad networks (agencies or ad serving companies) who will be able to bid for ad positions on the same sites that AdWords users compete for.

AdSense has always been something of an ad auction, with AdWords users competing for space not just on Google, but also on top-content publishers' sites. In the new arrangement, AdWords users will compete with agencies or other ad networks for the same space on publishers' sites.

Make money with adsense

AdSense is a program run by Google for ad serving. With AdSense, you can use Google AdWords with your website and get a pay-per-click payment for your efforts. AdSense is great to implement into blogs because they have real content, are frequently updated, and are often centered on specific topics. Search engine and keyword usage are at their highest ever and this allows for more traffic and possible sales with a website.

Google uses AdSense to get AdWords onto websites that are not Google related. AdSense is a great way for webmasters to earn money online. The program is very easy and is effective in getting more traffic to your website.

The affiliate marketing industry is being greatly impacted by AdSense. Users of Google AdWords get AdSense as an added bonus. Using AdSense can be a great way to get your internet marketing career off the ground and started. More and more people are discovering what AdSense is and how it can work for them in their internet aspirations everyday. If you are looking to earn income from your site, AdSense is not for you. Targeted content is the sole focus of AdSense. If you have a specific target, the search engines will respond better. You will see increased traffic to your site within a few days of implementing this program.

AdSense makes it possible for nearly anyone to make significant amounts of money. If someone is less than honest and wants to fool the system, there are fraud detection measures in place that will catch nearly all attempts. AdSense is always being changed and updated for new fraud detections and people who try to defraud the system are nearly always caught.

You can generate an additional income for your website through the use of AdSense. The program was designed for everyone from novice to professional. Google created AdSense to allow publishers to simply create ads on sites that promote Google owned advertisements. There is no better way to get traffic flowing to your website than by using AdSense.

AdSense provides advertising outlets for any site and any type of person. It does not mean that you can just put some random words o your site and think they are going to work. It does emphasize the fact that there are people that use advertisements to their benefit. There are also many different strategies in place for each of the advertisement type that is being used. As the internet continues to grow everyday, it is very important to give your business every opportunity possible for success.

Utilizing AdSense gives you the ability to do exactly that. It also gives you a wonderful opportunity to increase your sales and traffic to your site.

AdSense to Deploy Improved Contextual Targeted Ads

Google may be a sprawling giant with interests in many different areas but it still makes the overwhelming majority of its revenue from advertising. So, while it may not get much of the spotlight, it takes its advertising products very seriously. The company is now announcing that its affiliate advertising program AdSense is getting some important improvements to be rolled out this week.

“I'm excited to let you know that this week, we'll be rolling out a series of enhancements to AdSense's contextual targeting capabilities, which will more accurately match relevant ads to webpages. You won't need to update your AdSense account or ad code, as these changes will be applied automatically. In many ways these types of improvements are par for the course at Google - but I wanted to let you know about the kinds of improvements we've been focusing on,” Woojin Kim, AdSense product manager, wrote on the AdSense blog.

The contextual targeting technology powering AdSense ads is one of the most important components of the product. It scans and analyzes the pages where the ads are deployed to find which of these are more suitable for the content and thus more likely to be interesting to the users. Interested users means more clicks on the ads, which in turn means happier advertisers and wealthier web site owners. After AdSense determines the type of content on the site it does an automated auction to decide which of the ads that match it to display.

The system, though, isn't perfect, as with all machines trying to understand human behavior, so it may end up serving a less relevant ad, thus not helping anyone involved in the process. The improvements Google will be unveiling this week should help with the relevancy of the ads and the changes should be, more or less, visible as soon as they are implemented. Google also assures its users that the changes are strictly specific to the contextual targeted ads and won't affect other ad types.

AdSense will get new DoubleClick technology-based enhancements

Google blog, announces that in the upcoming months the Google content network (AdSense) will benefit from several enhancements based on DoubleClick technology. Several months ago, Google purchased the DoubleClick ad management company along with its technology for over $3 billion, after a struggle regarding the privacy issues this acquisition raised. At that time, Google announced that its plans were to "empower agencies, advertisers and publishers to collaborate more efficiently and effectively, and provide a better experience for users." Not long after the deal, Google started to integrate DoubleClick, and one first addition to its content network was the implementation of advertising tags from third-party vendors. The new enhancements announced today are frequency capping, frequency reporting, and view-through conversion measurement capabilities. These features will be implemented in the upcoming months, as the announcement notes, and this will be achieved through a single DoubleClick ad-serving cookie across the entire content network. Google is confident that, by using this solution, advertisers won't have to make any modifications to their websites during the implementation of these enhancements, as well as that of future ones. This will also enable the users to opt-out from the content network with a single click. "Frequency Capping - Enables advertisers to control the number of times a user sees an ad. Users will have a better experience on Google content network sites because they will no longer see the same ad over and over again; Frequency Reporting - Provides insight into the number of people who have seen an ad campaign, and how many times, on average, people are seeing these ads; View-Through Conversions - Enables advertisers to gain insights on how many users visited their sites after seeing an ad. This helps advertisers determine the best places to advertise so users will see more relevant ads." About these improvements and the ongoing integration of DoubleClick technology, and points out that in preparation for these changes Google also updated its "main privacy policy" and added a new "advertising-specific privacy policy," which interested users should read.

A new and improved Adsense for Search is now available

One of Google's products, Custom Search Engine (or short CSE), has recently received an important upgrade. According to a post on Google's Custom Search Blog, web developers can create CSEs using their own AdSense accounts. The new Justify Fullupgrade comes to increase the quality of Google services, as more users are continuously using Google's CSE. The CSE is one of Google's products, that has been released back in October 2006. It is part of Google's Co-op, a platform that enables the web developer to customize the web search experience for users of both Google and their own website.

AdSense is another Google product that allows webmasters to earn money by posting content relevant links on their own websites. With the new upgrade anyone who uses AdSense for Search can make use of the powerful Google Custom Service Engine.
Although some of the users may believe that using the CSE may get their websites indexed by Google, the service doesn't help you in this matter. As clearly stated on the webmaster central blog post: "Note that this change will not result in more pages indexed on Google.com and your search rankings on Google.com won't change". Moreover, Matt Cutts, Google engineer, explains that "the custom search engine team essentially is creating a side index and they are willing to use Sitemaps to improve the coverage of custom search engines. So AdSense for search gets better and the coverage of your custom site search gets better. But you won't get extra urls placed in Google's main web index." The only thing that is going to change is the power of your own CSE. If you provide Google with a Sitemap, through the Webmaster Tools, they will improve your own search engine. The good thing about this move is that webmasters that are using AdSense and CSE will help their own CSE be better at searching through their own website. Since a large number of Custom Search Engine users have expected this new feature, they will most probably welcome it. It's actually quite nice to see that Google is continuously improving its own products.

Google to Allow Third-Party Ad Networks to Use AdSense

Google is one of the most open companies out there but at the end of the day it wants to make money just like everyone else so the advertising programs, which generate the overwhelming majority of the search giant's revenue, have been mostly kept close to the chest, with advertisers and users presented with a pretty much “take it or leave it” option. But now, either because of the slowing growth in revenue or because it feels comfortable enough with its lead, Google is opening up its AdSense program to third-party ad vendors. “We've been hearing your requests for new ways to generate revenue in AdSense, and new ways to maintain control over the ads that appear on your sites. With that in mind, we're pleased to announce plans to give you the ability to allow multiple Google-certified ad networks to compete for display ad space on your site,”. At the moment web site owners who use AdSense get the ads from advertisers using AdWords to bid by means of an automated system for certain keywords. The winning ad from the number of competing ones going for the same keywords gets served on the site. With the new system though, ads coming from third-party ad networks will be allowed to bid and potentially get displayed on the sites instead of the ones coming from AdWords. AdSense users will be able to control what ad networks can bid for their sites and can block the ones they don't want or even all third-party ones if they choose to.

Of course, Google won't let just any ad network use its program and those interested will have to meet some pretty strict standards regarding user privacy, the ad's quality and the speed at which the network can serve them. And it gets even harder for networks that use similar tools to Google's to serve “interest-based” ads as these will only be allowed to use AdSense as long as they don't collect any data from the web sites. The program will be slowly rolled out over the next months.

Google Announces AdSense for Mobile Search

A recent post on the Google Mobile Blog announces that Google has added a new AdSense product for all mobile network operators and mobile website owners all over the world. The new AdSense for mobile search offers carriers and mobile publishers a simple and easy way to embed a Google search box on their websites or portals. Through the new AdSense product, users will be able to instantly access Google search. Moreover, they will also be provided with comprehensive web search, local, image, and news results all in a format that will fit their mobile phones. Mobile operators and website owners that will place the new AdSense on their portals will share “the ad revenue generated by searches originating from their sites.” The blog post goes on saying that “AdSense for mobile search is a Google-hosted solution, which means users will experience the same speed, reliability, and innovation that they've come to expect from Google. And even though the results pages are served by Google, the pages can be cobranded with publishers' logos and linked back to their sites.” The new AdSense product comes as a follower of the Adsense for mobile content, which was launched by Google back in September 2007. The previous launch was meant to ensure that “publishers could join our mobile content network and monetize their sites with Google text ads,”
